Shop of the Month-Crafting in Style

Thank you so much for Ally from Crafting in Style for these great layouts and sketches. 

I had some black and white photos of my sisters wedding and as soon as I saw the combination of red rubons, felt trimming and matching bits I knew it was the perfect combo to finally scrap them. I decided to make use of white space in this layout and let all the elements do the talking. Layering up the chip pieces with buttons and adding brads to buttons helped give dimension.

                                                

In this one I used some Stampin Up pp. I wanted to add some flower elements to this so I could use some of the felt trimming. I love that you can cut up the felt trim and use pieces of it on a layout to get the effect you are after. I also combined brads and chip flowers in this LO and added a FTI affection rubon.

                                                                      

I wanted to keep this layout simple looking too and let the wonderful bold colours do the work. I loved the mix of colours in the chipboard pieces

Using a variation of the sketch for this one was a fun way to add circles into the mix. The photos had matching boy colours to the elements as I find bold colours fit really nicely when doing masculine LO’s.

These photos of Anneliese going to her first fancy dress party are favourites of mine.  I have scrapped these photos before, yet I wasn’t happy with the result. I love the way the chipboard flourishes, coupled with the brads, bling and flower rubons create a simple, but effective layout.

                                         

This is the best present a grandmother could ask for – a new grandson born on Mother’s Day!  Welcome baby Miller!

                                        

This photo of Anneliese was taken on her 5^th Birthday.  The FTI rubons title, “Follow your dreams” seemed appropriate for this photo. I love the way the FTI rubon flowers, brads and clips could be used to extend the pattern on this paper.

                                     

When I think of Easter, I always think of soft, pastel colours. This range of ribbons, flowers and buttons from FTI inspired me to create this layout. I love the way the ribbons could be weaved to create a border.  I’m thrilled with the result!

Shop of the Month-Kindred Kollections

A huge thank you to Sue and Karen from Kindred Kollections in Toowoomba 07 4638 3607 for their gorgeous layouts using our baby range.

                                       

Karen designed this page and this is what she said about it - This page is very different to what I would normally do but the softness of the colours and the felt lace suit my mum perfectly. As this page is a tribute to my mum and what she has taught me throughout my life, I love that it is so inspired by her and her style. It certainly helps having great product to use as well!

                                     

Designed by Sue - I knew that I wanted to use this quote and photo together on a page. As soon as I saw the colour pallete and product I had to use, the inspiration flowed easily. The quote really hit home with me and seemed perfect especially "each one flies as best it can", as Katey does have a disability but is still so perfect! Because we have been through so much with Katey, and our love for her is so strong, I really wanted to use the chipboard heart somehow. I have cut this in half to form wings of a butterfly and filled in the wings with the gorgeous felt lace. Buttons form the body and the flourishes show where the butterfly has 'fluttered' from. Check out the flourish on the top of the quote. What does it look like? An elaborate coat hanger! The soft colours and the felt lace fit perfectly with this picture as Katey was in such a fragile state when this photo was taken.

                                       

Designed by Sue - These two fairies (Katey and Kyarah) are real earth-babies who love to be outside and getting back to nature every chance they get. It seemed only fitting to frame the photo in such a fun way with the floweres and the love heart. I have used the leaves off the FTI rub-on sheet to soften all the chipboard. The simpleness (is there such a word?) of the two rub-on words, "natue" and "garden", says it all.

                                     

Designed by Sue - I love this page and have been holding onto this 'snapshot' for a long time, waiting for the right product to use with it. I lost my dad this year and am so happy with the way this has turned out. Whenever 'Poppy' got out a book to read, there was always such a "flourish" of activity to see who could get the best and closest position. The flourish also signifies the extemely deep love that flowed between Poppy and his grandchildren.

Shop of the Month-One Stop Scrapping

Every month, we have decided to send a pack of goodies to one of our customers and ask that they turn loose a member of their DT to create some fantastic layouts using products from the FTI range! "It's Party Time"

My daughter is a real girly girl and the only colour in her world is pink!

So for this LO I pulled all of the pink out of the Springtime range and had a play. I punched the flowers from acetate with my retro daisy punches and I love the softer look that the sheer ribbon through the buttons gives.

The "It's party Time" rub on from the Skinnies - Moments pack made a quick title and journalling prompt.

                                     

"Cherish all your Happy Memories"

I had been wanting to use this tiny flower stamp on a LO for a while and the little Springtime brads made the perfect flower centres for it.

When I saw the "Cherish all your Happy Memories" rub on from the Skinnies - Moments pack it tied the whole LO together for me and made a very easy title for this LO.

                                       

"Just 2 More"

Looking at the colours of the Springtime range I at first struggled with inspiration for a Boy LO.

But once I settled on a black background to make the bright colours 'pop' and the bold chipboard pieces that came in the alpha pack the LO just came together.

With the coloured stitching to match the chipboard pieces I have created a LO which is perfect for my little man...it is bright and funky :)

                                     

"Adventures"

I have had this photo printed off for a while now waiting to start an album on the "Story of Us" so that one day our children will know how Mum and Dad met and what we did in our life before they came along.

Because the story will be the important thing in this album I wanted a fairly simple embellishment and I love this border of flowers that I created with the Springtime flowers, flowers clips and brads.

I thought the paper clip also gaves a casual feel to the LO "holding" the handwritten journalling in place.

   

"Beautiful Girls"

The "Beautiful" rub on from the Designer Skinnies Springtime pack was the main inspiration for this LO.

Along with it I pulled all of the purple out of the Springtime range and created this LO, it is definitely one of my favourite LOs.

The centres on the flowers are rub ons from the same pack as the "Beautiful" and the word "Girls" I have printed onto transparency.

This sketch is my own design that 'evolved' as I created the LO.
