Shop of the Month-Scrapsidaisy

Thank you very much to the team at Scrapsidaisy for these lovely layouts that have continued along the black and white theme.

SOTM-Scrapsidaisy-baby-bike

Georgie Mierau: what inspired me to do this layout was the fact it was black and white and bikers no matter what age always wear black......and sometimes white !

Tracey Kidd: Learning to sk8te was inspired by the bright rub-ons which suited the skating theme and a boy page perfectly. I wanted to keep the background simple so I just used plain PP and a piece of notepad paper so the rubons and chipboard numbers would stand out on the page.

Michelle Green: My inspiration for this page came from the beautiful colours in the flowers and rubbon which match perfectly with the colours in the photo of my gorgeous baby girl.

Julieann Saxby: I was inspired to create my page by the lovely new "HUGE" 6inch blossoms.

I love using flowers on my pages so the  huge black one & medium white one that were given to me to create with were what inspired it all.
I have previously purchased some of the Floral felt ribbon & was a little afraid to use it. However I found it easier then I had imagined once I gave it a go.  I attached my felt ribbon with little brads in various colours.

Kristy's Layouts

Kristy decided to concentrate on wedding layouts using the black and white theme.

Kristy-May-01

So this is Marks wife Hayley who am close friends with and she looked truly amazing the day they got married, Again I wanted to keep the layout simple but elegant I used the felt cut in half in white, some white ribbon crossed and a heart 3d with foam dot, The black flourishes sanded back a little and the three tear drop shapes 3d with foam dots aswell, half the white flower machine stitched down to add interest.

Kristy-may-02

So on this layout I used a pic of my husband and his best mate Mark on his wedding day, I wanted to keep the layout simple but manly so I used the floral grey ribbon with the hint of elegance being flowers, black ribbon to make it bold,  a combo of the black and white chipboard letters and the white and black brads to finish it off.

Kristy-may-03

Again here I love this pic from my wedding day and used the chipboard flourishes and used 3d dots to raise them of the page, I used half of the black 6 inch flower and finished the centre off with a white heart and a smaller black heart 3d with foam dot to lift it off the white heart.

Kristy-may-04

A new Marriage I love this picture of my husband and I and not wanting to take too much away from the photo I used the 6 inch, 4 inch and 2 inch flowers cut inhalf to show them off, the black ribbon with the fleck of white and the pearl ribbon slide as my necklace was pearls.  I also used the chipboard letters in a combo of white and black.  I used the Purple, Orange and Pink cardstock to pick out the colours from my boquet, while the black and white FTI stuff added the touch of elegance it needed

We are sorry to say goodbye to Kristy as she has a break while waiting on the birth of her third child.  We wish you all the very best.

We also welcome Tracey onto our Design Team.  Keep an eye out for Tracey's creations in the next month.

Emeline goes off the page

Emeline has gone off the page with her creations this month.  Have a look at the card and the fantastic wall hanging which was made with one of our new 6" flowers.

Emelinefticard

i used black felt ribbon over a laced cardstock to create a dimensional effect and used brads to secure the ribbon in place. The black and white definitely signify elegance.

                                      Emelinehisactionswords_2

On this layout, i used ribbon stripes to frame the picture and used mini brads to use as journaling points

                                                                       Emelinelearningtoaccept

I used large brads as fillers for the scalloped cardstock. These brads are truly very versatile. They are so great even to use it on its own!

Emelineftihangingdeco_2

I used Jumbo black flower as a base and layered hearts chipboard onto it. I love the different sizes and shapes of the hearts!

It's not always black and white....

Our Design Team have been creating awsome layouts using black and white products from the FTI range.  Have a look at Michelle's creations below.

Michellefamily

Inspiration - One of the few family portraits we have, taken by photographer Nerida Childs.  I used the black and white elements to frame and balance the photo, adding some doodled borders to go with the casual air in the photo and the scalloped mat.

                               Michellemyangel

Inspiration - I took this photo using black and white film, and I love how sweet my boy looks.  The high contrast pic went perfectly with the crisp black and white elements.  I wanted an overall distressed messy look though, using ink to edge the letters for contrast and swiping the ink over the cardstock to create a mat, as looks most definitely ARE deceiving!!

                                                                               Michelleprettyloud

Inspiration - The photo went perfectly with the unique patterned papers, which were ideal for using with the mega paper flowers.  The paper flowers were layered and swiped with pink dye based ink to give the layers definition and I used a doodle journal stamp in the centre of the large flower.  The title goes with both the colour scheme and the photo where my gorgeous girl is showing off her impressive yell.

Michellesmiley

Inspiration - Black and white go great with..... PINK!  Which is just as well for this photo of my daughter.  The huge paper flowers are brilliant for stamping on, creating lots of textural appeal.  The swirly chipboards go great with the swirly stamps.

Shop of the Month-Crafting in Style

Thank you so much for Ally from Crafting in Style for these great layouts and sketches.

Cislove1

I had some black and white photos of my sisters wedding and as soon as I saw the combination of red rubons, felt trimming and matching bits I knew it was the perfect combo to finally scrap them. I decided to make use of white space in this layout and let all the elements do the talking. Layering up the chip pieces with buttons and adding brads to buttons helped give dimension.

                                                 Cisemily1

In this one I used some Stampin Up pp. I wanted to add some flower elements to this so I could use some of the felt trimming. I love that you can cut up the felt trim and use pieces of it on a layout to get the effect you are after. I also combined brads and chip flowers in this LO and added a FTI affection rubon.

                                                                       Cismates1

I wanted to keep this layout simple looking too and let the wonderful bold colours do the work. I loved the mix of colours in the chipboard pieces

Cisthomas1

Using a variation of the sketch for this one was a fun way to add circles into the mix. The photos had matching boy colours to the elements as I find bold colours fit really nicely when doing masculine LO’s.

Design Team Layouts

Our design team have excelled themselves using our primary range this month.  Have a look at their creations below.

Michellemrcool

Michelle - Driven by the photo here.  Orange is my son's favourite colour, and went well with the Primary theme.  The photo was taken on an angle, so I introduced a vertical spliced mat in orange to balance it up.

                          Michellegirl

Michelle - The rub one flourishes and felt ribbon were great to go with the series of red and white dominant photos.  The thin strip of text printed paper is balanced by the vertical journalling strip on the right hand side.  The felt ribbon and title chippies complete a frame which draws the eye into the block of photos.

                                                                                  Michellebrotherandsister

Michelle - Red and green with a dash of blue suited both the photos and the Primary scheme.  The textured cardstock adds visual interest without distracting pattern, and this is balanced by the border of felt ribbon.  A hidden journalling block stamped in white on navy cardstock ties the blue chipboard and flowers in with the blue in the photo.

Michelleyouat6

Michelle -This cheeky photo sums up my son's personality!  He loves ribbon, bling and scrapping with my leftovers, so this collage style heart border made a great mat with lots of texture and interest.

                           Emelinelittlesuperhero

Emeline-I was totally inspired by the solid red found in "Primary" Range products. It was easy to decide on which picture to scrap with. Here, i used blue and red as the dominant colours to coordinate with Spidey's theme color.

                                              Emelinecelebrate

Emeline-On this page, I raised the capital letter of the title with a square chipboard. These squares are so functional and versatile. The swirls and curves on the rub ons are such great elements to add onto the page. They make such great difference to my page!

                                                                                  Emelinegirl

Emeline-Red Again! It's such a fun colour to scrap with and the redness literally pop off the page! Red ribbon as photo corners, red rub on, red velvet ribbon - I simply love the highlight ... for balance, I layered chipboard onto flower and added buttons onto the chipboard for visual interest.

Emelineballoons

Emeline-this picture was taken recently at my son's birthday party and the theme colour : Blue and yellow which happens to be sponge bob's theme colour too! I punched holes onto the flower petals and punched additional holes onto the chipboard centre and tied with a ribbon.

                                 Kristyapril1

Kristy-WOW these new flourish rubons were fantastic as they added the touch of fancy to the whole layout and the colours worked so well with the pictures of the kids

                                                                              Kristyapril2

Kristy-So Reggie the family pet posed for me and as he is black and white the colours this month were fantastic, the red felt stitched over cutout in cardstock something different, The ribbon and buckle to make the collar, brads to make a bone, flowers cut to make corners finished off nicer, hearts combined for how much we love reggie and some white ribbon tied through holes on cardstock.

Kristyapril3

Kristy-I opened this months pack and had ideas running through my head, I love these new pics of the kids and the colours were perfect for what i wanted to do,done some machine stitching and used buttons, brads, ribbon and one flower cut in half for something a little different and the great felt I cut it in half it added the red i needed without being a block colour of red.
                              Kristyapril4

Kristy-I used abit of everything on this layout, Brads, flowers, Buttons, New flourish rubons, chipboard letters for numbers and I traced around the edge for the title using chipboard letters, done some twisting with some ribbon and stitched it down and some more of the fantastic and so easy to use felt, just love the whole feel of this page.
